Will artificial sweeteners kick me out of Ketosis?

 

Artificial and zero calorie sweeteners should not cause an increase and blood sugar meaning that they should not impact ketosis.

However, many people do report that consuming these sugar replacements kick them out of ketosis and it is theorized that this could be due to a programmed response by the body to produce insulin in response to sweet tasting foods.  The mechanism behind this has not been established yet but since this is being reported by some Keto Dieters, it is worth noting and assessing your individual response to these sweeteners is important.

Regardless, these sweeteners should not become a staple of your diet.
